Atropy adalah band thrash metal terbentuk di Tucson, Arizona. Atropy awalnya berdiri dengan nama Heresy, dibentuk pada tahun 1986 oleh Chris Lykins, James Gulotta, dan Brian Zimmerman. Tim Kelly dan Rick Skowron kemudian bergabung dengan band.
Pada tahun 1987, band ini menghasilkan dua demo kaset dan kemudian dijemput oleh thrash label metal, Roadrunner Records. Mereka merekam dua album: Socialized Hate pada tahun 1988 dan Violent By Nature pada tahun 1990. Mereka melakukan tur AS dan Eropa dengan band-band seperti Sacred Reich, Forced Entry dan Coroner. Setelah tur Eropa, Lykins meninggalkan band. Atropy kemudian dijatuhkan oleh label rekaman mereka.
